Lola T165/T70 -
Custom Build - 1983
A
recent restoration has taken place to the
multi-award winning Lola T165/70 Custom. The
car was traded in on a race car 20+ years ago.
This car traces its heritage back to the
legendary "Banzai Runners" days. A band of rich
renegades with a club. Entry into the club was
by pulling a verified 200 Mph on the LA Freeways
at 3:00am. The only cars to qualify we are told
were the Lola's and GT40's. Its show history
speaks for itself.
Custom built one
off Concourse car. T165 chassis with a widened
T70 MKIII Gullwing body.
462 CID Big Block
Chevy, Inglese Weber’s, Magneto timing, ZF
DS25-2 transmission, Air Conditioning, Magnesium
wheel’s 17’ rears and 12’ fronts. Lola 3B Le
Mans style brakes.

“You don’t so much drive it. You experience
it, for in spite of the fact that this
particular automobile (Lola T165/T70) has
been tamed for highway use, it continues to
communicate its racing lineage most
convincingly.”
(Road
and Track, 1984)
